About us

Champion Roofing, Oklahoma City, since 2004

A locally owned roofing company on North Council Road, run by people who learned the trade on the roof itself. That is still visible in how the work runs.

How we started

A roofing company run from the roof down

Champion Roofing LLC was founded in April 2004 by people who had already spent years installing roofs, and it is still run that way today.

That background shows. People who have installed roofs themselves have a different sense of what is acceptable and what is a shortcut, and a different tolerance for putting a product on a customer's house that will need attention in five years.

It is also why we are so specific about change orders, about not installing a shingle we are unwilling to warranty, and about treating a small repair with the same seriousness as a designer slate roof.

The awards

Two DaVinci Projects of the Year, both commercial

In 2021, Champion Roofing won the DaVinci Roofscapes Masterpiece Contractor Project of the Year award for a commercial project at the Donald W. Reynolds Complex at Bethany Children's Health Center.

In 2023, we won it again, for a commercial project at Gaillardia Office Park.

Awards are not a substitute for a reference from someone whose roof we did. But two national Project of the Year awards on commercial specialty work is a reasonable indication of the kind of project we are trusted with.

How we work

How Champion Roofing works on every job

Seven commitments that shape every job, from a small repair to a slate roof.

The price is the price

We do not like change orders. When we give you a price, that is the price. If we come across something mid job, we usually absorb it rather than passing it on to the customer.

The exception is a condition nobody could have known about, such as a structural problem hidden beneath decking. Even then, you hear about it before anything is done.

We will not install a shingle we would not warranty

If a product has a known problem, it does not go on your house, regardless of whether it is cheap, available or already ordered.

When a product we were installing was recalled, we stopped using it and went back to one we trusted.

The crew that starts your roof finishes it

We put the same good roof on for everybody.

Our crews have worked with us for years. They split into smaller teams by project, so the people who set up on your first morning are the people who finish, and nobody rotates in and out mid job. The same crews that handle our specialty tile work handle a small repair on an ordinary house, to the same standard.

Advice first, not a sales pitch

We treat customers like family. We are here to help, to understand what you are looking for, and to serve you as well as we can.

The practical version of that is spending time on someone’s best interest rather than on a close, and then usually getting the roof anyway because the honest opinion is what they wanted.

We stand behind work past the warranty when it is our fault

In Oklahoma, your name gets spread pretty fast if you do a bad job.

There is a roof we replaced where the customer called five years later, after the warranty had already expired, because a problem had appeared. We went out, looked at it, decided it was our fault, and dealt with it.

Most of our work comes from repeat customers and referrals, so our reputation is the business.

We stop when the weather says stop

We delay or stop roofing work when rain, snow or unsafe heat could endanger the crew or expose your property.

On the hottest days that can mean pulling the crew off the roof at midday and finishing later in the day. It is a scheduling cost we accept rather than a promise we break.

The site gets looked after while we are on it

Gardens get protected before tear off begins, because a trampled flower bed is what customers remember about a roofing job. A foreman stays on site through the day.

Before we leave, the ground is swept with magnets for nails, debris is cleared and materials are accounted for.

The crew

Who is on your property

A roofing company is only as good as the people it puts on the roof and the person watching them.

Foremen on site

One on residential jobs and usually two on commercial. They stay flexible as things come up, manage safety while people move in and out, and verify materials against the specification.

Cleanup is their job too

Before the job closes out, the foreman makes sure the site is swept with magnets for nails, debris is gone and all material is accounted for.

Leadership checks the work

Company leadership goes out to job sites and checks for nails and workmanship, because quality that is not inspected does not stay quality.

Inspectors with drones

Every inspection is three laps: two with the drone, then a third on foot with a handheld camera. Where the photos cannot answer the question, we follow up on the roof and in the attic.

Beyond the roof

Where the company puts its time locally

Champion Roofing's leadership serves on the board and the building committee of Bethany Children's Health Center. The Donald W. Reynolds Complex there is also the project that won Champion Roofing its first DaVinci Project of the Year award in 2021.

The company supports Water4 and The Salvation Army.

When you let a crew onto your property, it helps to know what the company stands for locally.
