The standard

The same standard whether it is a slate roof or a small repair

Champion Roofing has been roofing houses in Oklahoma City since 2004, and it is run by people who learned the trade on the roof. That shapes how jobs run here: the standard gets set from the roof down.

We work on both ends of this market. There are streets around the metro where nearly every house carries synthetic slate or designer tile, and we have roofed a lot of them. We also do repairs on ordinary houses and outbuildings.

We put the same good roof on for everybody.

  • GAF Master Elite residential contractor. That is what allows us to offer the upgraded manufacturer warranties.
  • DaVinci Masterpiece contractor. Project of the Year winner in 2021 and 2023.
  • Two year written workmanship warranty. On every roof we install, without exception.
  • A foreman on site. All day, from tear off to cleanup.
Residential services

Roof repair, replacement and more for your home

From a single leak to a full designer slate roof, every job is diagnosed before it is priced.

What goes on your roof

Every roofing system we install, and when we recommend it

We install across the whole range, from an architectural shingle to a synthetic slate. Pick a system to see what it suits.

Architectural and designer asphalt shingles

The system on most Oklahoma City homes, and the one we install most often. As a GAF Master Elite contractor we can register the top tier GAF manufacturer warranties, which only a small share of roofers can offer, and we will not put a shingle on your house that we are not willing to warranty ourselves.

Standing seam, metal shingle and corrugated

Metal suits Oklahoma homes and outbuildings that take direct weather, and it works on both modern and traditional houses. The detailing is where metal roofs succeed or fail, so panel layout, fastening and flashing get planned before anything is ordered.

Clay, concrete, composite and synthetic tile

Tile is the work we are best known for in Oklahoma City. A correct tile installation is about what happens underneath: underlayment, battens, fastening and the flashing details at every hip, valley and penetration.

These are the roofs on the older and higher end streets around the metro, and they are unforgiving of a rushed install. Champion Roofing was the first company in Oklahoma to install Brava synthetic roofing, and we have maintained specialty roofs in Nichols Hills, Gaillardia, Rose Creek, Cobblestone and Heritage Hills.

TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen and coatings

TPO is our usual recommendation for commercial low slope work because of availability, installation and how serviceable it is later. It is not right everywhere: on a restaurant with grease exhaust we will point you to PVC or EPDM instead, because that is what the building needs.

Materials and warranty

Materials we trust. And the warranty behind them.

We install products that hold up in the Oklahoma heat, and if a shingle changes and stops meeting our standards, we stop selling it. Here is what stands behind a Champion roof.

  • Class 4Shingle option

    Impact rated shingles

Where the hail exposure justifies it, we try to get customers into a Class 4 impact rated shingle, built to handle hail better than a standard product. It is worth asking your carrier how they treat impact rated roofing.

  • 25/30Year options

    Upgraded GAF and Malarkey warranties

Qualifying customers can upgrade to a higher tier manufacturer warranty that includes extended workmanship coverage backed by the manufacturer. It transfers if you sell the house.

  • 2 yrEvery roof

    Our written workmanship warranty

Covers anything installed improperly, or a detail we missed that causes a leak.

The detail

What a residential roof from Champion Roofing involves

A roof is a process, not just a product. The difference between a roof that lasts and a roof that leaks in three years is almost never the shingle on top. It is the decking underneath, the underlayment, and the way every penetration and transition is detailed.

It starts with an assessment, not a quote

Nothing gets priced until somebody has looked properly. An inspector comes to the property, makes three laps of the roof, two with the drone and a third on foot with a handheld camera, and talks through the findings with you on site. The report follows by email. That happens whether the answer is a full replacement, a small repair, or that your roof is fine and you should call us again in a few years.

If the drone imagery cannot confirm what is happening, we get on the roof and into the attic to trace it.

Decking gets inspected once the old roof is off

You cannot tell the true condition of roof decking through an existing roof. Once the tear off is done, the deck is inspected properly. Where boards are soft, damaged or fail code requirements, that gets documented rather than covered up. When the work is running through an insurance claim, decking that fails code is photographed and sent to your carrier as a supplement, so the scope reflects what the roof needs.

Then the system goes on, in order

Underlayment and ice and water protection at the vulnerable areas: eaves, valleys and around penetrations.
Flashing at chimneys, walls, valleys and every roof penetration. This is where most roofs fail, and it is not a place for sealant instead of metal.
The roof covering itself, whether that is architectural shingle, standing seam metal, tile on battens, or slate.
Ridge and ventilation detailing, because a roof that cannot breathe will cook its own decking from below.

Your property gets protected while it happens

Roofing is destructive by nature. Tear off produces debris, and gardens sit directly underneath. Protecting the landscaping is set up as a system before work begins, so the flower beds are covered before anything comes off the roof.

A foreman is on site through the day. Their job is to stay flexible as things come up, keep the site safe while people are moving in and out, verify that the materials delivered are the materials specified, and see the cleanup through. That means debris cleared, materials accounted for, and the ground swept with magnets for nails.

The price you were given is the price

If something turns up mid job, we usually absorb it rather than passing it along. The exception is something nobody could have known about, such as a structural problem hidden under the decking, and even then you hear about it before anything is done.

And it is warrantied

Every roof we install carries a two year written workmanship warranty covering anything installed improperly or a detail we missed that causes a leak. Qualifying customers can purchase higher tier GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed or Malarkey manufacturer warranties, available in 25 and 30 year options, which include extended manufacturer backed workmanship coverage and are transferable if you sell the house.

We also will not install a shingle we are not prepared to warranty. If a product has a known problem, we do not put it on your house just because it is cheap and available.

Where we work

Oklahoma City and the metro around it

We are based on North Council Road in northwest Oklahoma City and work across the metro. We would rather tell you we are not the right fit than stretch a crew somewhere we cannot look after you.

Residential FAQs

Questions homeowners ask us

Repair or replace, materials, timing and protecting your property.

How do I know whether my roof needs repair or replacement?

It comes down to how much of the roof is affected and how old the system is. Damage confined to one slope, a handful of shingles, or a single flashing detail is usually a repair. Widespread granular loss, hail bruising on several sides of the roof, or a roof already near the end of its service life is usually a replacement.

You should not have to guess. Our assessment is free: two laps of the roof with the drone and a third on foot, and you get the findings in writing by email whichever way it goes.

Do you work on both expensive homes and modest ones?

Yes, and to the same standard. Every customer gets the same treatment, whatever the size of the job.

We install designer slate and synthetic tile on the higher end streets around the metro, and we also do small repairs on ordinary houses. Same crews, same warranty, same standard.

What roofing materials do you install on homes?

Asphalt shingles from the four brands we trust, GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed and Malarkey, in architectural and designer profiles, metal in standing seam, metal shingle and corrugated systems, clay and concrete tile, composite and synthetic tile, natural and synthetic slate, and wood and synthetic shake.

We are a GAF Master Elite residential contractor and a DaVinci Masterpiece contractor, and we were the first company in Oklahoma to install Brava synthetic roofing.

How long does a residential roof replacement take?

Most shingle replacements are finished in a day, two at most. Tile, slate, Brava synthetic and complex steep slope roofs are a week long job or more, because the detailing cannot be rushed.

Weather moves the schedule. We stop or delay work when rain, snow or unsafe heat would put the crew or your property at risk, so a forecast can push a start date.

Will my landscaping and property be protected?

Yes. We set it up deliberately, as a system. Gardens and flower beds get covered and protected before tear off begins, and a foreman is on site through the day managing what is moving in and out.

Before we leave, the site is swept for nails with magnets, debris is cleared, and materials are accounted for.
