Roofing in Yukon, Oklahoma
Yukon is a short run west. Alongside the usual residential work, this is an area where metal roofing on shops and outbuildings comes up more often.
Metal roofing and outbuildings
Yukon is west of our Council Road office and an easy area for us to work in.
Alongside ordinary residential roofing, metal comes up more here than in some parts of the metro, particularly on shops, outbuildings and properties with longer simple roof runs. Metal suits that kind of building well: it sheds water fast and handles wind properly when it is fastened correctly.
The detailing is what decides whether a metal roof lasts. Panel layout, allowance for thermal movement and the flashing at every transition get planned before anything is ordered, not resolved on the roof.
- Standing seam, metal shingle and corrugated. Specified to the building.
- Outbuildings and shops. Not only houses.
- Full residential roofing too. Shingle, tile and everything else we install.
- Honest material advice. Including when metal is the wrong answer for your roof.
Every system we install, and when we would actually recommend it
We install across the whole range, from a builder grade shingle to a synthetic slate. Pick a system to see what it suits.
Architectural and designer asphalt shingles
The system on most Oklahoma City homes, and the one we install most often. As a GAF Master Elite contractor we can offer manufacturer warranties that most roofers in the metro cannot, and we will not put a shingle on your house that we are not willing to warranty ourselves.
- Systems we install
- Three tab, architectural, designer
- Hail consideration
- Class 4 impact rated options
- Manufacturers
- GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, Malarkey
Standing seam, metal shingle and corrugated
Metal suits Oklahoma homes and outbuildings that take direct weather, and it works on both modern and traditional elevations. The detailing is where metal roofs succeed or fail, so panel layout, fastening and flashing get planned before anything is ordered.
- Profiles
- Standing seam, metal shingle, corrugated
- Best for
- Long runs, simple to moderately complex roofs
- Also used on
- Commercial and agricultural buildings
Clay, concrete, composite and synthetic tile
Tile is the work we are best known for, and there is not much competition for it in this market. A correct tile installation is about what happens underneath: underlayment, battens, fastening and the flashing details at every hip, valley and penetration.
- Materials
- Clay, concrete, composite, synthetic
- Brands
- DaVinci, Brava, Grand Manor
- Recognition
- DaVinci Masterpiece Contractor
Natural slate, synthetic slate, wood and synthetic shake
These are the roofs on the older and higher end streets around the metro, and they are unforgiving of a rushed install. Champion Roofing was the first company in Oklahoma to install Brava synthetic roofing, and we have maintained specialty roofs in Nichols Hills, Gaillardia, Rose Creek, Cobblestone and Heritage Hills.
- Materials
- Natural slate, synthetic slate
- Also
- Wood shake and synthetic shake
- Neighbourhoods
- Nichols Hills, Gaillardia, Heritage Hills
TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen and coatings
TPO is our usual recommendation for commercial low slope work because of availability, installation and how serviceable it is later. It is not right everywhere: on a restaurant with grease exhaust we will point you to PVC or EPDM instead, because that is what the building actually needs.
- Membranes
- TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen
- Coatings
- GAF CoatingsPro liquid applied
- Typical buildings
- Offices, retail, industrial, multifamily

The practical questions people in this part of the metro actually ask.
Why does metal come up so much in Yukon?
More shops, outbuildings and properties with long simple roof runs than in some parts of the metro. Metal suits that kind of building well: it sheds water fast and handles wind properly when it is fastened correctly.
What decides whether a metal roof lasts?
The detailing, not the panel. Panel layout, allowance for thermal movement and the flashing at every transition get planned before anything is ordered, not resolved on the roof.
Do you still do ordinary shingle roofs in Yukon?
Of course. Full residential roofing, repair, replacement and inspection, same as anywhere on our list. Metal is simply the thing that comes up here more often.
Will you tell me if metal is wrong for my roof?
Yes. There are roofs where it is the wrong answer on cost, on look or on the building, and we would rather say so than sell it.
Roof trouble in Yukon?
A free assessment, a drone survey and a written report. If your roof is fine, we will tell you it is fine.
